Directing & Teaching & Coaching

"Piper is by far the best audiobook teacher I’ve ever seen. Not only does she know how to deliver a terrific read, but she knows how to navigate the business, find one’s niche, and deliver a beautifully produced final product.  And she communicates it all simply and brilliantly.  Her status in the business is well deserved."

 - Andy Roth, Casting Director

Passionate about the craft of narration, Piper has taught audiobook narration at The Museum of the Moving Image, Syracuse University, Marymount Manhattan, CAST at Ripley-Grier, The Voice Shop, the Weston Playhouse, ACX University, and Stonestreet Studios at NYU/Tisch School of the Arts.

She produced and directed #SOBLESSED by Annoying Actor Friend to benefit BC/EFA, read by a full cast of Broadway stars including Alan Cumming, Megan Hilty, and Brian Dennehy. She has also directed audiobooks read by Kathryn Grody, Amandla Stenberg, Charles Scribner III, Emilia Fox, Art Garfunkel, and Audra McDonald.

Other selected teaching/directing includes: Brown University/Trinity Rep, 3rd year Voice & Speech Fellow; The McCarter Summer Shakespeare Program; 3 years as the Director of Education/Artistic Associate at the Weston Playhouse; Bridgewater State College Summer Pre-Professional Program;  and directing the musicals The Phantom Tollbooth and Shrek at the Weston Playhouse

"I was a first-time audiobook narrator when I had the opportunity to work with Piper.  Her editorial direction, professional demeanor, and her articulate and sensitive guidance throughout pre-production and the four full days in studio were masterful.  She listens deeply and responds with intelligence and candor.

Simply put, I can't imagine having done it without Piper by my side." ~ Brian Fielding, In This I Will Find Beauty

“I’ve been voice acting professionally for 20 years, and yet, being directed by Piper made me feel like a student again in all the best ways. Her direction is clear and concise, her research incredibly thorough, and her energy is giving and fun. She is able to give criticism in a way that feels exciting, like this is an opportunity to grow and hone your craft and make something special. It was truly one of the most positive experiences in my career to date.”

~ Brina Palencia, Map to the Unknown
